Give Thanks
1Th 5:18
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
A brother shared about giving thanks to the Lord, in all time, for by which the grace might abound much more in the supernatural way..
Without knowing it, i too become greatly blessed by this simply truth; In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
I sprained my ankle last Saturday, after i came home still walking, limping. The same night boss called because of some mistake i made caused trouble in work, my heart sunk, and the thought come quickly to disturb: why is all this thing happen?
Thanks be to God the Holy Spirit is not slow too, immediately urging me to enter the room, and simply: give thanks, give thanks... (I can imagine ps mark's comment: how to?) nevertheless i started giving thanks like what ps mark did, for things around me, things i can see, then things i cannot see, i started thanking God for His promises, as i walked to and fro in the room. I couldn't remember how long, but at one point i stop and realise i am no more limping! i am walking normally! I continue to give thanks and His love was so strong! i felt so loved in His pressence, tears filled my eyes and all cares dim in His glory.
Monday come, the care that bothers me just pass me by, His abundant of grace give courage and strength for us to face any trouble that may come, and the same grace keep us in His protection and edified us and teach us to face the trouble with more wisdom. We will never thank Him enough for this super amazing grace, but we shall continue to give thanks because that's the way to keep us focus on Him and He is the only way for us to go out of our trouble.
(additional reading: Psalms 9)
I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart;
I will tell of all Your marvelous works.
I will be glad and rejoice in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
Do you know when David sang this psalms? when the first son of him and bathseeba died, and after this, out came Soloman, the beloved of God, the son of peace.
Give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
